If you love this newsletter, you might just love Otherwise even more.
Otherwise is a new podcast, co-hosted by me and my longtime colleague and friend, Nicole Davenport. It’s about AI that makes the world a little better, and the people who built it that way. We sit down with some of our favorite people in this work: the ones who ask not just what AI can do, but what it should do.
In other words, it’s AI for Humanity stories in audio.
I don’t want to spoil all of the surprises, but our guests include Khan Academy’s Sal Khan, one of the world’s most trusted names in learning, who is now showing what nonprofit AI can look like. Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, who turned a volunteer-built site into what many call “the last best place on the internet” and is drawing careful lines on where AI belongs in it. And Maggie Johnson, Global Head of Google.org, who has been one of the biggest champions of AI-powered nonprofits and has moved millions of dollars to back purpose-built tech. We dig into the experiences and convictions behind their choices, and have a lot of fun along the way.
This newsletter will look a little different for the next few months. Starting next week, I’ll send a weekly email with each new episode, plus my thoughts and highlights from the conversation.
New episodes land every Tuesday. I hope you’ll tune in. Otherwise, our audience just won’t be the same.
